Stream Overlay

Display your pet on stream with the 2D overlay system!

Overview

The pet overlay shows a 2D animated cat that walks across your stream when triggered by:

  • New followers
  • Subscriptions (new, resub, gift)
  • Bits cheered (above minimum threshold)
  • Polls started

Setup

Go to Configuration Page

Visit rastry.com/overlay/pets (opens in a new tab) and login with Twitch.

Get Your Overlay URL

Your unique overlay URL:

https://www.rastry.com/overlay/pets/display?token=YOUR_UNIQUE_TOKEN

Add to OBS

  1. Open OBS Studio
  2. Add new Browser Source
  3. Paste your overlay URL
  4. Set dimensions: 1920 x 1080
  5. The pet will walk across the screen when events trigger

Pet Reactions

When enabled, your overlay pet walks across the screen on these events:

Requires Twitch EventSub connection. Connect on the overlay configuration page.

Cat Types

The 2D overlay uses cat sprites. Choose your style:

Recommended OBS settings for the pet overlay:

Troubleshooting

Pet Not Showing

  1. Verify URL is correct with your username
  2. Check browser source is visible (eye icon)
  3. Ensure overlay is enabled in settings

Pet Not Reacting

  1. Check "Enable Reactions" is ON
  2. Verify Twitch integration is connected
  3. Refresh the browser source

Performance Issues

  1. Enable "Shutdown when not visible"
  2. Reduce OBS browser source FPS to 30
  3. Check internet connection

Multiple Overlays

You can use the same overlay URL on different scenes - the pet appears when triggered.

Testing

Test your overlay from the configuration page:

  1. Go to rastry.com/overlay/pets (opens in a new tab)
  2. Click Test Pet Walk
  3. Watch the pet walk in the preview and OBS
